High Speed CNC Cutting
Sutherland Felt Company has added a high tech computerized CNC cutting system – we can turn your ideas/drawing files in to cut out designs. This is a super versatile die-less cutting system, and is extremely accurate and capable of producing the highest quality cut parts. This system utilizes a sophisticated nesting software, which optimizes material yield, saving both money and time. The cutting surface is a high tech bristle-belt conveyor system, allowing us to cut panels up to 72″ wide by an unlimited length. This is ideal for wall panels, hanging architectural panels, and other custom cut designs.
Adhesive Coating
Sutherland Felt has a large coating division that allows us to laminate heat-activated and cold bonding adhesive products to virtually any type of felt. Sutherland Felt can apply up to 400 degrees F to adhesive before driving it into the felt with a program driven pinch rollers. We can also slit material in line after applying adhesive. Sutherland Felt Co. is authorized 3M adhesive distributor, and stocks a wide variety of PSA from 3M and other major adhesive manufacturers including Avery, JDC, Sekisui, 3F, and CCT.

Roll Slitting
Sutherland has a computerized roll slitting system that can slit material to .625″ wide. For widths less than .625″, we have a rotary knife slitting machine that can slit down to 1/8″ widths.
Die Cutting
We can add adhesive backing to any felt material, and offer slitting and die cutting services as well. Our automated die-less computerized CNC cutting system can cut almost any architectural pattern you can dream of.
Kiss Cutting
Kiss cutting involves die cutting adhesive backed material, and cutting through the material, but not the adhesive. Kiss cut felt is normally supplied on a roll, and ran on Sutherland’s narrow-web, high-speed presses. For larger dies, the automatic beam press allows us to kiss cut large parts. Sutherland Felt is a leading supplier and fabricator of kiss cut felt parts to the automotive industry.

Special Orders normally require a 3-4 week lead time and a manufacturing minimum. Items designated as in-stock are normally inventoried, but may occasionally be in the process of being produced, thus requiring a 3-4 week lead time.
